The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) was established in 1965 by a group of certified allergists who formed a medical society that has now evolved into an international organization representing healthcare professionals specializing in Environmental Medicine. AAEM members have earned recognized degrees from accredited schools and maintain current licensure to practice medicine. Many AAEM members are also board certified by one or more of the 24 medical specialty boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
