Origami.me was possibly the largest origami website on the internet with a full beginner’s guide to the hobby, a large database of diagrams and crease patterns, video tutorials, book and paper recommendations, showcases and articles.

The site had over 20,000 followers on Facebook, over 2,000 followers on Twitter, over 1,000 followers on Instagram and over 8,500 followers on Pinterest. It also ranked #1 on Google for the search term “origami” for a period of almost 2 years.

This was my oldest website originally launched back in 2009 and it has gone through several redesigns and domain name changes over the years.

In September 2023 I sold this website to a company in Portugal.

Origami.me was originally developed using WordPress and the Uncode WordPress theme.

Everyone Can Learn Origami

In 2017 I published a 310-page book titled “Everyone can Learn Origami” with origami instructions teaching beginners of all ages how to fold 77 different traditional origami models. I published the book through Amazon Create Space (now Kindle Direct Publishing). All the diagrams were drawn using Adobe Illustrator and the graphic design for the book was done using Adobe InDesign.

The book is available on Amazon in both hardcover and softcover versions and was promoted through origami.me. Even though I no longer own that website I do still maintain ownership and rights for this book.

Praise for Everyone Can Learn Origami

The diagrams in this book are the best I have ever seen.

I bought this book a few months ago. I was new to origami at that point in my life, and worried that I would not be able to follow the diagrams. SO happy that this is the first book I purchased, because the diagrams are clear and the folds are described perfectly. I have worked through the whole book and I’ve been able to make every model (except the dragon… still working on that one). Since purchasing Saydak’s book I have bought two other books and looked at countless diagrams on the internet. Nothing else even comes close. Buy this book! You will have hours and hours of successful folding. I am just hoping that the author produces a second volume!

Beautiful and easy to follow

I’m so excited about this book. My six year old son’s interest in origami is surpassing my basic knowledge, and I wanted a book that would teach me the names of specific types of folds or bases so I could more follow the instructions for the complicated figures he wanted to make. This book does exactly that! It starts with the simplest folds and bases and builds to more complicated ones. The rest of the book is laid out in a similar way — simple figures first building to more complicated ones. Also, its impressive in its scope has dozens of figures. It truly is a beautiful book in how easy it is to use and follow. Whether you want to casually learn to do specific figures or want to build your origami skills in as systematic way, this book is just what you need! Also, I had some specific questions and thought I’d take a chance and contact the website listed at the front of the book. I ended up hearing back from the author himself and really appreciated his help with my questions!

Great beginner book! Very thorough!! 5 stars!

I originally purchased this book to use in a homeschool co-op class for 6th-8th graders. After many hours of researching options, this book seemed like the best fit for an introduction to origami; learning the bases for the crafts, easy beginner crafts to start with, and slow progression to more challenging crafts. The kids found the directions very easy to understand, and the crafts themselves were fun to make. I would recommend this to anyone who wants and introduction into origami. The progression makes sense and is easy to follow along. For people who have had experience with origami, this is a good refresher and can aid in knowledge of the names of the base folds as well as more complicated folds in the back of the book.

This book is huge and really helpful to learn origami

I was looking for something fun to do with my nieces that was creative and happened across this book so I figured that I’d order it. It is SO THICK! I was expecting some thin book of 25 pages, but this is really incredible. There’s so much in this book and I’ve been having a lot of fun learning how to make different things with my nieces. It’s really incredible and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a helpful instructional guide to learn how to make origami. I’m really happy with my purchase and my nieces are having a great time learning how to do this too!
